Ariana Grandes tour recently made a stop in Atlanta, and now she is taking the proceeds from the show and donating it to Planned Parenthood.
According to TMZ, the organization will reportedly get a total of $300,000 from the songstress. Her donation comes on the heels of the state approving the Heartbeat Bill, which bans abortion after a fetal heartbeat is detected.
Since the bills approval, many big names have spoken out against the states decision. Big Hollywood studios such as Netflix and Disney have also talked about stopping the filming of their projects in the state if the bill goes into effect.
In an exclusive statement provided to People, Dr. Leana Wen, the Planned Parenthood Action Fund President said, Ariana Grandes generous donation comes at a critical time in Georgia and across the country, anti-womens health politicians are trying to ban all safe, legal abortion. This is not what the American people want, nor is it something theyll stand for.
Dr. Wen continued, Thanks to inspiring support like hers, Planned Parenthood can continue to fight back in the courts, in Congress, in state houses, and in the streets against these dangerous attacks on peoples health and lives. We are so grateful to Ariana for her longstanding commitment to supporting womens rights and standing with Planned Parenthood to defend access to reproductive health care. We wont stop fighting no matter what.
