The number of players in Cruks rises to over 10,000
The number of players registered with the Central Register for the Exclusion of Gambling (Cruks) has risen to more than 10,000. This was announced by the Dutch Gaming Authority on Tuesday. Players who have registered with Cruks cannot participate in games of chance of online providers, slot machine halls, and Holland Casino.
On Friday, October 1, 2021, the online gaming market opened, but that did not happen without a hitch. The opening would even take place a day later due to problems with Cruks. On Monday, October 4, the registration at Cruks finally opened as well. This, however, caused the SP and ChristenUnie to submit parliamentary questions. In the first two weeks, over 1,600 registrations were made.
In October, that number rose to some 3,500 registrations, despite the fact that Cruks did not appear to be working properly. According to then Minister Dekker, all problems surrounding the register were not fully resolved until October 20.

On Tuesday, March 15, the Dutch Gaming Authority announced that the number of registered players in Cruks had risen to more than 10,000. These are all players who have been unable to play at online casinos, slot machine halls, and Holland Casino for at least six months.
Legal providers on the Dutch online gaming market are obliged to use this register. It is looked at when new players try to register. Players can also be registered in Cruks by others, such as family members and providers.
Registration in Cruks by third parties is not simply possible. The institution or person must be able to demonstrate that they are troubled by the problematic gambling behavior of the player in question. Other forms of help must also have been tried before a third-party registration can be approved. Players can raise objections themselves if they are registered by someone else.
