Clandestine Chinese gang dismantled in the center of Padua: the blitz
The agents (in plain clothes and in uniform) of the local police broke into an apartment in the Belvedere Tower, in piazzale Stazione: 45 people were present at the time of the operation, 8,200 euros in cash were seized.

The umpteenth brake on gambling: an illegal gambling den was dismantled in the late evening of Friday, March 8 in an apartment of the "Torre Belvedere" in Piazzale Stazione, during an operation of the local police, reports the site miglioricasinononaams.com.
The operation
The agents, in plain clothes and in uniform, broke into the apartment at about 10 pm on Friday, March 8, surprising 45 people in the premises, including men and women, all Chinese, busy around the electronic tables for the game of "mahjong" located in three rooms. On the floor and on the furniture remains of food and drink, while in the rooms stagnated a thick blanket of cigarette smoke. In this context, certainly not suitable, the agents also found two children, one 5 years old and one just 15 months old.

Overcome the surprise for the raid (the players in one of the rooms have also tried to barricade themselves by closing the door), began the process of identification of those present and the seizure of money on the tables and equipment for gambling. The holder of the lease was Z.Y., born in 1989 and in possession of a regular residence permit, who was notified of the inspection order issued by the judiciary. The other Chinese people present were found to be partly illegal and partly in possession of an expired residence permit, while some of them had shown false documents (two forged Romanian identity cards and a driving license were seized).
The seizure
The search led to the seizure of 8,200 euros in cash in addition to the materials needed for the game. In the three rooms, in fact, cards for the game of "mahjong", decks of poker cards, dominoes, dice and chips were found. Everywhere, envelopes containing cash in different denominations, and banknotes scattered on the gaming tables. The gambling activity was in all evidence perfectly organized and certainly not occasional. The people present were all searched: some of them also had on them large sums of money (about 10 thousand euros in cash) that were not, however, seized as not immediately attributable to gambling. All have been reported for having participated in complicity in gambling.
The report
Tonight's operation is the result of the professionalism of the agents of the Padua Local Police and originates from a report received in January. At that time, the Local Police had knocked on the apartment for a check and the family that had opened the door was completely regular. The agents had noticed, not completely hidden, some poker sets in a briefcase and had therefore decided to investigate the matter by sending a note to the Public Prosecutor's Office, which then authorized the decree of inspection of the premises put in place tonight. Mayor Sergio Giordani comments:
