Ready For Round 2! Ashanti Jokes About Her Timeline For Having More Kids With Nelly (WATCH)

Ashanti has dropped heavy hints about wanting to expand her family with Nelly. In recent weeks, she’s opened up at least twice about having one or two more children. She echoed that desire while on the red carpet with her husband at the iHeartRadio Music Awards on March 17.

What Ashanti & Nelly Said About More Kids On The Red Carpet

As mentioned, the couple paused their red carpet strut to speak to E! News. At one point, the reporter said she heard Nelly wanted more kids and turned to ask Ashanti her thoughts. The singer immediately replied, “Let’s go,” while the rapper clarified that it was “the other way around.” They both laughed, but Shanti also tripled down, wanting to spin the mommy block again. She said her son makes her want to have “one or two more.” They welcomed their son, Kareem, in July 2024, but fans have yet to catch a sneak peek at their mini-me.Watch the hilarious baby talk below.

 

Singer’s Previous Comments About Having More Kids

That wasn’t the first time she talked to E! News about having more children. Shealso spoke on the topic in late February, admitting that she feels “amazing, incredibly pleased, humbled.” As for welcoming more kids, she confirmed they planned to “add some more.” She prefers to have a girl “to balance it out.”

A few days later, she spoke on the topic again on an episode of TODAY with Jenna & Friends. She said she’s “absolutely” imagining having baby number two, but maybe not too, too soon. “I definitely want more kids, but maybe not right this second,” Ashanti added.

Social Media Reacts To Ashanti & Nelly’s Latest Interview

In The Shade Room’s comment section, Kareem’s internet aunties and uncles seem to favor adding a new member to Nelly and Ashanti’s family. Meanwhile, a few others called out the rapper’s reaction and questioned if he’s with the idea as much as his wife. Kareem is Ashanti’s first and only child, but Nelly has three children total, including son and daughter Cornell Hayes III and Chanelle Hayes.

@dagoatwz wrote, “Lets gooo!!!” If she aint like this i don’t want her.”

“And hes going to give her what she wants too; I love that for her!! ,” @jameracarol_ said.

@myaluvvmoneyy_ wrote, “I think Nelly done w kids Ashanti…based off his reaction.” And @autumnmblackmon agreed, writing, “Yeah he ain’t with that.”

“She got them on ice! Ready to pop in the microwave,” @beautifulblackwomenofbk joked.

“A lil Ashanti would be nice,” @chocolatemurfette added.

“She said ready to start nellyville Ÿ˜‚,” @benji_chino55 said.

@its_luckimaree wrote, “Yess multiply more love babies Ÿ™ŒŸ™Œ”

@penniesfromheaven14 was also here for another mini-me for the couple. “Wonderful i pray they continue to have a harmonious marriage,” they wrote.

So, will baby number two become a reality for Ashanti and Nelly in 2025? At this point, only time will tell.
