Ashanti is keeping her fans posted on her journey to motherhood. The R&B singer reflected on her extra special Mother’s Day with Nelly through a sweet Instagram post.
As The Shade Room previously reported, the superstar couple is engaged and expecting their first child together.

On Thursday (May 15), Ashanti uploaded a video and several photos from Mother’s Day. The ‘Baby’ songstress celebrated the special holiday in Saint Louis, Missouri, alongside Nelly and her family.
The first picture sees the musicians posing together while Ashanti shows off her growing baby bump in a long, sleeveless maxi dress.
“This Mother’s Day was so special… having our families together as we are about to embark on such an incredible journey was amazing. Wishing all of the amazing Moms and Moms to be a beautiful Mother’s Day/ Pre Mothers Day!!!!!! #grateful yeah yeah I know I’m late… it was so much food I got distracted. Ps… I only had 1 plate tho,” Ashanti wrote on Instagram.
As The Shade Room reported, Ashanti revealed her pregnancy on April 17. The ‘Rain on Me’ artist shocked the internet after she uploaded a video on Instagram to announce the news.
As if that wasn’t enough, the award-winning artist sat down with Essence for an exclusive interview and told the publication that she and Nelly are engaged.
“This new year of my life is such a blessing full of love, hope and anticipation. Motherhood is something that I have always looked forward to, and sharing this with my family, fianc, and loyal fans, who have been supportive of my career, is an amazing experience,” the singer told the outlet.
Ashanti and Nelly decided to rekindle their love in 2023. The duo began their relationship in the early stages of their careers in 2003 but unfortunately parted ways a decade later. These days, fans are so happy to see them back together and happily in love.
