On Christmas Day, the residents of Nashville were rocked by a bombing that took place Downtown. According to Federal authorities, the man responsible had been identified. Officials say 63-year-old Anthony Quinn Warner was responsible for the Christmas morning bombing.
He was present when the bomb went off and he perished in the bombing, said Don Cochran, U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Tennessee.
Anthonys motive is unclear, and with DNA evidence, authorities confirmed Warners remains were found at the scene, Cochran said, The Tennessean reports.
I cannot truly describe all the hard work that has gone into this investigation since Fridays explosion,” Metro Nashville Police Chief John Drake said during Sundays announcement. “Nashville is considered safe.”
Moments before the bombing, Anthony can be seen in an R.V. giving a warning to those around. He stated, Evacuate now. There is a bomb. A bomb is in this vehicle and will explode, she remembers the recorded warning saying.
President-elect Joe Biden stated, Investigators in Nashville “are working around the clock to gain more information on motive and intent,” Biden said after a national security briefing with advisers, and there needs to be “continuing vigilance across the board.”
As previously reported, 41 buildings were damaged and three people were injured. Thankfully, no one was killed.
Police responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle parked outside an AT&T building just before 6 a.m. Upon arrival, police said an officer had reason to alert the departments hazardous devices unit, which was en route when a significant explosion happened, The Tennessean reports.
