Bank Of America Confirms Account Glitch

USA Today indicates that around 1 p.m. ET on Oct. 2, reports of issues started flooding in, with approximately 20,266 outages logged, according to the website Downdetector.

The outlet noted that many Bank Of America customers reported missing account balances on the app, while others saw a zero balance despite being able to access their accounts. Bank Of America has not specified the cause of the problem but told several outlets they were handling the glitch.

In a statement to CNN, the bank acknowledged the issues clients faced with their accounts and balance information. “These issues are being addressed and have largely been resolved. We apologize for any inconvenience,” Bank Of America said.

Furthermore, BOA’s Media Relations Executive Matt Card has since assured The Verge that the glitch has been fully resolved.

“Some mobile and online banking clients experienced an issue accessing their accounts and balance information earlier today,” Card wrote in an email to the outlet. “These technology issues have been fully resolved. We apologize for any inconvenience.”
