Barack & Michelle Obama Reveal Inspiring Projects They Are Set To Release On Netflix!

One year ago, our forever president and first lady signed a multiyear production deal with Netflix to produce shows and films. Now, Barack and Michelle Obama have a complete slate of projects they are excited to release!
The Obamas’ production company, Higher Ground Productions, announced seven films and series that will be mindful of our current political climate, but inspire and educate in a thoughtful way.
“Touching on issues of race and class, democracy and civil rights and much more, we believe each of these productions won’t just entertain, but will educate, connect and inspire us all,” Barack said in a statement.
The hope is to bring people of color together through connecting experiences and interests. Higher Ground is producing a feature film about the life of Frederick Douglass, as well as a documentary series about people of color working under Donald Trump’s administration.
“We love this slate because it spans so many different interests and experiences, yet it’s all woven together with stories that are relevant to our daily lives,” Michelle Obama said. “We think there’s something here for everyone–moms and dads, curious kids, and anybody simply looking for an engaging, uplifting watch at the end of a busy day.”
With the goal of creating content for everybody in mind, the Obamas are producing content focused around various age groups and identities.
From a drama series focusing on a post-World World II era for people of color to a preschool series informing children and their families about food, our forever president and first lady have made sure to include everyone.
Although there are no release dates set, the Obama’s hope the projects will be released over the next couple of years.
