Beyonce’ & Blue Ivy Win Grammy For Best Music Video For ‘Brown Skin Girl’–Blue Ivy Becomes Second Youngest Person To Win Award

The 63rd Annual Grammy Awards kicked off earlier Sunday afternoon, and among the early winners were Beyoncé and Blue Ivy. The mother and daughter duo won the Best Music Video category for “Brown Skin Girl.”

This makes Blue Ivy the second youngest recipient. Leah Peasall, who won in 2001 at the age of 8, is actually the youngest Grammy recipient to-date, according to CNN.

“Brown Skin Girl” is featured on Beyoncé’s “Lion King: The Gift” album. The video, which premiered last summer, stars Lupita Nyong’o, Kelly Rowland and became a national anthem for all of the fellow Black queens around the world. Saint Jhn and Wizkid are also featured on the song.

As you know, Beyonce’ received nine nominations.

“Black Parade” garnered her Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best R&B Performance, and Best R&B nods. Her feature with Megan The Stallion “Savage” is up for Record of The year, Best Rap Song, and won Best Rap Performance.

In the spirit of the Grammy’s, as previously reported, Bruno and Anderson .Paak started their #LetSilkSonicThrive hashtag on Twitter in an attempt to perform during the 2021 Grammy Awards, and it worked. They will perform at the event.

Both Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak are already Grammy Award-winning artists.

As you know, Beyonce’ made Grammy history by winning her 28th Grammy for ‘Black Parade,’ making her the only female artist in history to have that number. She is now tied with legendary producer Quincy Jones, who also has 28 Grammy Awards.

Also, Grammy newcomer Megan Thee Stallion pretty much swept the remaining Rap categories, winning for both Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance for her hit ‘Savage’ remix featuring Beyoncé.
