Roomies, on Beyonc’s internet, things happen on HER time. Just when folks thought they were celebrating the Fourth of July, Queen Bey stopped everyone in their tracks with a surprise drop that had the BeyHive scrambling to press play.
Beyonc kicked off the holiday with a surprise drop that instantly set the internet off, releasing a new track titled ‘Morning Dew (Donk)’ her first solo release in two years. According to her team at Parkwood Entertainment, the unexpected release also launches a 60-day countdown leading into both her birthday and the 20th anniversary of her iconic ‘BDay’ album, which originally dropped on Sept. 4, 2006.
But while fans are treating it like a fresh era moment, the track actually has deep vault energy. ‘Morning Dew (Donk)’ was originally recorded back during the ‘BDay’ sessions around 2006 but never made the final album cut. Now, its been revisited and reworked for an official release, giving a long-lost record new life nearly two decades later. Parkwood framed the release as a special gift to the BeyHive ahead of the milestone celebration, confirming the song will be featured on the upcoming ‘BDay 20th Anniversary’ edition.
