Bishop Whitehead Holds A Press Conference After Recent Robbery At His Church

Whew! Bishop Lamor Whitehead from Brooklyn, NY has remained in the media all week after his church was unfortunately robbed at gunpoint last weekend. As previously reported, the robbery was caught during his church service’s live stream, and many questions since then have come about.

On Friday, Bishop Whitehead addressed the media during a press conference after people had several questions about what could have led to the robbery, the bishop’s finances, as well as allegations of him stealing money from members of his congregation.

While speaking about the aftermath of the robbery, Whitehead shared that many people are focused on his past and not on what happened to him and his congregation on the day of the armed robbery. While sharing that his wife and daughter have not stopped crying about the incident, or that his members don’t want to return, he said,

“My church, nobody can empathize or sympathize with us. You wanna know why? Because ya’ll are plastering their pastor. Nobody wants to talk about these three men that came into this church and violated us. We are a house of worship.”

He went on to say that people have been sharing images of him wearing high-end brands like Fendi and Gucci bringing up his finances. He questioned why aren’t those brands allowed to be worn in church. He reflected on growing up using food stamps but says now he’s being “crucified” for spending money on luxury items for himself and his family.

Bishop Whitehead said,

“What the media is portraying me to be are villains, and it’s not fair, let us mourn a little bit. Let us thank God a little bit that there were no fatalities at all.”
