Brandy Speaks Out After Recent Photos Spark Online Conversation

On Saturday, July 11, Brandy shared photos of herself along with a lengthy message on Instagram. She appeared to address the online conversation surrounding her appearance after photos from her hometown honor and key tot the city ceremony sparked discussion. The singer told fans that “life was never meant to be untouched” and that “every season leaves its signature upon us.” She also encouraged those who frequently criticize to lead with more kindness, reminding them that words carry weight.

“Our words have weight. Our judgments have weight. Our kindness does too. The world will always be tempted to measure people by what is visible. But love has never looked only at the surface. Love sees the whole person,” Brandy wrote.

From there, she said she hopes her people take away one thing from her post and message: when you look at someone, remember you’re looking at someone’s child, friend, dream, and life.

“If this post leaves you with anything, I hope its this: Before you speak about someones body, before you speak about someones face, before you decide who they are by what you see, remember, you are looking at someones child. Someones friend. Someones dream. Someones life. A soul. And souls have always been more beautiful than surfaces. love bran ŸŸ’ŽŸ’™Ÿ‹Ÿ†Ÿ™Ÿ”
