Brandy Cast In ABC Drama Pilot ‘Queens’ About 90s Hip Hop Group Alongside Eve & Naturi Naughton

#Roommates, Brandy is stepping back into her actress bag in front of the camera courtesy of a previously announced project co-starring Eve and Naturi Naughton. Brandy has officially been cast in the ABC hip hop drama pilot ‘Queens’ about a fictional 90s hip hop group.

@Deadline reports, Brandy is once again tapping into her acting skills—and this time she’ll do it as part of a fictional 90s rap group. ABC’s highly-anticipated drama pilot ‘Queens’ has just added former ‘Moesha’ star Brandy to star opposite Eve and Naturi Naughton as one of the four members of the ‘Nasty B**ches.’

Brandy is set to play the character of Naomi, known as ‘Xplicit Lyrics’ when she was still in the group. She is described as the musical center of the ‘Nasty B**ches’ who was sure she would achieve mainstream success following the group’s breakup, but that didn’t happen. However, things begin to look up for her when the group gets back together and Naomi is reunited with her first love—but she also has to come face-to-face with her rival group member that stole him from her back in the day. Elsewhere, she also has an estranged daughter that she desperately wants to be there for, although she isn’t exactly sure where to start.

As we previously reported, written by Zahir McGhee, ‘Queens’ is about four estranged former group members, now in their 40s, who reunite for a chance to reclaim their musical fame as the ‘Nasty B**ches’—their 90s group that made them legends in the hip hop world.

Naturi Naughton will play Jill, aka ‘Da Thrill,’ a founding member of the ‘Nasty B**ches.’ Back in the day she was known for her legendary rhymes and nasty drug habit. These days, Jill lives a quiet life as a devout Catholic with her husband.  Meanwhile, Eve is set to play another one of the group’s members named Brianna, however, the specific details about her character have not been released yet.
