Chile, a family argument over a little fruit turned into a whole situation for Briasia White and her brother, Lamarian Girtman. The Texas siblings are now facing separate charges after police say a disagreement over grapes allegedly escalated quickly. And lets just say the grapes were only the beginning.

It All Started With Some Grapes

According to the Waco Police Department, Briasia White, 20, is accused of injury to a child, while Lamarian Girtman, 18, is accused of assault causing bodily injury to a family member. Officers responded to a domestic disturbance around 7 p.m. on September 24 at the Tribeca Apartments in Waco, according to an affidavit obtained by local media.

According to the charging documents, White told police the disagreement started after she confronted Girtman about eating grapes she had recently purchased. Things allegedly escalated quickly, with both siblings giving investigators accounts of the confrontation that differed in key details.

Both Siblings Gave Police Different Accounts

White told officers that Girtman became angry and continued yelling as she walked away and locked herself inside another room. Police say she reported that Girtman then banged on the door hard enough to create a hole. White allegedly warned him she would spray him with mace if he entered before eventually opening the door and pepper-spraying him.

Girtman told police the situation unfolded differently, saying White initially punched him in the face over the grapes and became loud and angry during the argument. However, according to the affidavit, he also acknowledged attacking his sister and told investigators he expected to go to jail. He reportedly said he blacked out during part of the altercation because of his anger. Police say he allegedly put his arm around White’s head and made a death threat during the confrontation. Meanwhile, White told investigators she ultimately punched him to break free.

Another Sibling Gets Caught In The Middle

And apparently, the family drama didn’t stop there. A third sibling was reportedly present and attempted to step between White and Girtman as the fight unfolded. According to the affidavit, the younger sibling told police that White slapped him in the face while he was trying to intervene. Girtman also reportedly told investigators that their younger brother had been slapped.

White initially denied slapping the younger sibling. But according to the charging documents, she later acknowledged her involvement after being read her Miranda rights. Both White and Girtman were booked into the McLennan County Jail last week. Furthermore, they have since posted bond, according to jail records. The siblings are now facing their respective charges as the legal process moves forward.
