After authorities reportedly conducted a wellness check on Britney Spears, the singer is assuring fans that she’s A-OK as they continue cutting up over her knife-dancing videos.
The situation began on Monday (Sept. 25) after the “Gimme More” singer shared an Instagram video of her at home dancing with knives, which she stated were “NOT real” before adding, “Halloween is soon!!!”
A few days later, TMZ reported that authorities with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department had ultimately conducted a wellness check on the star. However, they determined she was alright and left.
Later, the outlet added that, per authorities, a member of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Systemwide Mental Assessment Response Team (SMART) reached out expressing concern.
On Thursday (Sept. 28), the “Gimme More” singer addressed the situation on Instagram with another knife-dancing video, acknowledging that she understands she “spooked everyone.”
Nonetheless, she reiterated that the knives were fake before adding, “No one needs to worry or call the police.”
“I know I spooked everyone with the last post, but these are fake knives that my team rented from Hand Prop shop in LA. These are not real knives. No one needs to worry or call the police.”
The star then revealed she was trying to channel Shakira through her performance.
“I’m trying to imitate one of my favorite performers Shakira … a performance I was inspired by!!!”
Britney Spears ended her message by stating, “Cheers to us bad girls who aren’t afraid to push boundaries and take risks.” IKTR!
