Kyle Jean-Baptiste was just 21-years old when his life was cut short. He was a graduate of the famed LaGuardia High School and embarked on an already successful career straight out of college.
He was cast in Broadway’s production of ‘Les Miserables’ as Jean Valjean, making him not only the youngest to play the role, but also the first African American to play the role as well.
It all happened Friday night after his show when Kyle was at his mothers apartment in Brooklyn. He was hanging out on a fourth floor fire escape with a female friend, when he lost his balance while trying to get up, slipping and falling to his death.

His Broadway family released a statement saying “We send our deepest condolences to his family and ask that you respect their privacy in this unimaginably difficult time.”
The shocking and sudden loss of this talent man is truly devastating.
We are praying for his family and loved ones.
