Caitlyn Jenner Gets Bashed By Trans Supporters

After Caitlyn Jenner announced that she’d be transitioning back in April, she’s kind of taken the world by storm. She received the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the ESPY’s this year and was also named as Glamour’s Women of the Year last month. The Olympian has been inundated with compliments about how brave she is for transitioning in the public eye, however, the average trans person is not impressed at all by what many are championing as bravery.
On Thursday night, Caitlyn Jenner attended a luncheon for the Chicago House, which is a charity that provides services for people effected by HIV/AIDS and the LGBT community. Jenner gave the keynote address to the more than 1,000 attendees, but upon leaving, she was met with trans protesters who feel that her wealth does not allow her to properly identify with the trans community. In the video, you can hear the protesters saying,

The group called ‘I Ain’t Cait’ (lol) released a statement that explained why they feel that Jenner is a misrepresentation of all women. “Caitlyn Jenner… lives in a mansion and has a net worth of millions of dollars,” they said, “while the average trans person has a 41 percent chance of experiencing homelessness and a nearly 50 percent chance of living off less than $10k per year.”
The group labels Jenner as “a clueless rich white woman who thinks disenfranchised trans women of color should just pluck themselves up off the street and stop being so lazy.” They also added “Caitlyn Jenner doesn’t represent trans people!”
One of the protesters in the video that ‘I Ain’t Cait’ posted said that the pseudo-matriarch of the Kardashians gave her a ‘look of disgust’ as she tried reasoning with protesters. She wrote, “I support her as trans, but I won’t support her as an act of bravery for transitioning in the public’s eye, while millions are homeless for identifying, dead, or dying because they have to do damn near anything just to find a place to sleep at night. Those are the folks that I pray respect and support my direct advocacy for humanity and dignity for all. Everyone can be productive if given a chance and left alone to figure it out.”
Roommates, do you think that Caitlyn feels any type of way about people who don’t understand her journey? Money can make you even more out of touch, so I definitely understand why these supporters feel the way that they do. Tell us what you think in the comments!
