The internet doesn’t play when it comes to getting the tea, and right now, folks are keeping their eyes locked on Carmelo Anthony, wondering if he just soft-launched a new lady in his life. A social media video shows the former NBA star-turned-broadcaster alongside model Racquel Smith, and now fans think a romance might be brewing between the two!
Okay, so BOOM! For context, Racquel Smith dropped a carousel post on Instagram, and her comment section was immediately flooded with mentions of Carmelo Anthony after he appeared in a video on the fifth slide. The footage shows them waiting for an elevator while Racquel records on her phone with the flash on. While she captures the content, Carmelo lowkey cheeses behind her as they walk into the elevator. They also looked like they coordinated outfits as the video sees them both rocking all-black fits. Racquel wears a satin top with a thigh-high split skirt, while Melo popped out in a black bucket hat, polo shirt, and pants. Racquel kept her caption simple, adding, “This…” alongside the hashtag “#deserved.”
If you’ve been out of the loop, here’s what you need to know about Racquel Smith. According to TMZ, she is the widow of Will Smith, a New Orleans Saints football player who was fatally shot and killed during a 2016 road rage incident. Racquel survived the shooting after suffering injuries during the attack. Authorities convicted Smith’s killer after the incident, and he is currently serving time in prison. As for Melo, fans know he was previously married to La La Anthony. They were together from 2010 until she filed for divorce in 2021. They share a son, Kiyan Anthony, and Melo also has a daughter, Genesis, with his former partner, Mia Burks.
