Carole Baskin Sued For Defamation By The Family Of Don Lewis For Allegedly Going Along With Jokes About Him On “Dancing With The Stars”

#Roommates, although she is currently showing America her dancing shoes on “Dancing With The Stars,” Carole Baskin should get ready to make a trip to the courthouse due to a new lawsuit. The family of Carole Baskin’s dead ex-husband, Don Lewis, just hit Baskin with a defamation lawsuit for allegedly making light of his disappearance on the hit ABC dancing competition series.

@PageSix reports, Carole Baskin, 59, is officially being sued for defamation due to not speaking up or defending Don Lewis when judges on “Dancing With the Stars” cracked jokes about him. According to new court documents, the lawsuit accuses Baskin of being “complicit” when judges referenced a viral TikTok video discussing the unproved conspiracy theory that Baskin actually killed Lewis — and fed him to hungry tigers.

Additionally, the lawsuit alleges that Baskin should have intervened when “DWTS” judge Bruno Tonioli joked that she “didn’t quite kill the paso doble, it was kind of sedated.” There are also issues with Baskin saying that she was “ready to kill it next week” in an interview with “Good Morning America,” which the family believes is in extremely poor taste and further diminishes the disappearance of Lewis.

Jon Phillips, the Lewis family’s attorney, explained earlier this week that Carole Baskin has been hit with a defamation lawsuit before. Back in 1998, she reportedly settled a $50,000 defamation lawsuit brought by her missing husband’s former executive assistant, Anne McQueen.

“These exact same false statements, and additional ones, are being made again in 2020,” Phillips said. “It is malicious. Making matters worse, Howard Baskin [Carole’s current husband] is making these same statements publicly, as is Big Cat Rescue. As such, they have been added as defendants.”
