21 Savage was born Shayaa Bin Abraham-Joseph on October 22, 1992. Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, 21 Savage had a rough childhood. From a young age, he was involved with gangs and even charged with gun possession in the 7th grade. Because of that charge, Savage was expelled from school but went on to have a pretty successful rap career.
21 Savage first rose to fame with his quite catchy debut single, Picky, in 2014. It was released by DJ Plugg. He continued at the same pace with his highly successful and popular projects: The Slaughter Tape in 2015, Savage Mode in 2016, Issa Album in 2017, and I Am > I Was in 2018. His debut mixtape, The Slaughter Tape, launched him sky high.
With two monster hit singles, Million Dollar Liq and Skrtt Skrtt, it was obvious that Savage is here to stay. He had guests like Offset, Key! and iLoveMakonnen featured on his debut.
His debut just paved the way for his crown jewel, the collaborative Savage Mode EP, with Metro Boomin. It peaked at number seven on the US Top Rap Albums chart and at number 28 on the Billboard 200. Savage’s signature is doing mixtapes with his fellow artists like Post Malone, Gunna, J. Cole, DJ Mustard, Zaytoven, Southside, Meek Mill, Travis Scott, Young Thug, Drake, Lotto Krueger, and Don Slaughter.
