Early Life
Amber was born in 1983 as Amber Levonchuck, her mother being of Cape Verdean African and Scottish descent, and her father being of Irish and Italian descent. She eventually chose to take her mother’s name and be known as Amber Rose.
When she was only 15 years old, she started stripping because of her family’s financial situation, and she’s always been quite open about it, never hiding her past from her fans or haters alike. Amber’s even dabbled in dealing crack cocaine but was not very successful.
Career
Deciding to switch from stripping to modeling was a turning point for Amber. She quickly garnered the attention of many and started booking steady gigs. It was her appearance in Ludacris’ What Them Girls Like that paved her path to success.
She caught the eye of Kanye West and was featured in a Louis Vuitton ad for his footwear collection. The two later started dating, putting both their relationship and the eventual breakup in the spotlight.
Amber’s made appearances in numerous music videos, including Nicki Minaj’s Massive Attack video, Wiz Khalifa’s No Sleep, and others.
As far as her rapping career is concerned, her debut single Fame ft Wiz Khalifa came out in 2012, followed by the single Loaded.
2016 saw the start of her VH1 talk show The Amber Rose Show, which aimed at discussing current issues. Between 2016 and 2018, she hosted the show Loveline.
