Early Life
Ayesha Curry was born on March 23, 1989, in Markham, Ontario, Canada. Her love for cooking began as a small child, when her mother opened a kitchen in the basement of their house, operating a saloon.
She was also an aspiring actress, starring in minor roles before shifting her focus primarily on her cooking. She met all-star Stephen Curry before he was a professional basketball player, and the couple married in 2011. They have since supported each other in everything they do and note their mutual Christian faith as the base of everything they do.
Career
Ayesha’s career stems from her love of cooking. As she was always interested in cooking, she got her first contract with the Food Network for a television series called Ayesha’s Home Kitchen. The show featured Ayesha whipping up meals for her family and was catered to busy moms.
The show itself was a mix between a cooking show and insight into Ayesha’s life with her celebrity husband. It was only the beginning of her cooking career, as, after the show’s cancellation, Ayesha established her own cooking company called Little Lights of Mine.
Little Lights of Mine sells numerous cooking products, utensils, and aprons, and was the basis for her restaurants which would pop up in the following years. She has since published a couple of her own cookbooks which have found success in the public eye. She is praised for her homemade approach to cooking, bringing high-quality cooking to every household.
In the News
Unfortunately, Curry has found herself in some controversy after opening her fourth restaurant, in light of which she has performed the “Milly Rock” dance in a now-viral YouTube video. After garnering critique from the public, her husband has later defended his wife, supporting her in getting PR for her new restaurant in any way possible.
She has also found herself in the public eye after appearing on the popular TV show Red Table Talk, where she discussed the self-doubt, she was experiencing about her marriage to the basketball All-Star.
