Blueface

Blueface is one of the few new age American rappers who successfully cut through the noise. His numerous tattoos are not the only thing that makes him distinctive. Known for hits like Thotiana, we can’t wait to see what the future holds for him.

Early Life

Born in Los Angeles, California on January 20, 1997, Jonathan Porter did not display any interest in music in his early childhood. In fact, he was way more interested in sports. During his teenage years, Blueface changed high schools often.

After showing tremendous interest in football, Blueface decided to study at the Fayetteville State University. Due to some issues with the coaching methodology, Porter dropped out from the college to focus more on his music career.

Rise to Fame

Blueface, also known as Blueface Bleedem, started his career as a rapper in 2017. This young rapper didn’t have much to start with, so he used Instagram and SoundCloud to share his music. After taking the pseudonym Blueface Bleedem, Jonathan released his debut song Deadlocs under the Scum_beats label. Deadlocs turned into quite the hit as it got over 2 million views. Soon after, he released another song, Thotiana which received well above 1 million views.

In the following year, 2018, Blueface became a well-known rapper. First, he released his debut EP Famous Cryp. The songs Freak Btch and Fucced Em were very well received generating several million views.

Crowds seemed to love Blueface’s unique offbeat flow and high-pitched voice. His music video for the song Respect My Crypn was released on the YouTube channel WorldStarHipHop. As soon as it started being shared on Twitter, the song went viral.

By the end of 2018, Blueface signed a deal with Cash Money West and released another viral hit Bleed It.
