City Girls is a hip-hop duo consisting of Yung Miami and JT. Check out the girls’ early life and career and find out what they have been up to lately.
Early Life
Born Jatavia Shakara Johnson in Liberty City, Miami, JT grew up listening to gospel music. Caresha Romeka Brownlee was born in Opa-locka, Miami, nicknamed Yung Miami she listened to quite different music, being mainly influenced by Jacki-O and Trina.
As little girls, both faced many challenges that often come with growing up in urban cities. They met in middle school and together caused a few fights with other girls, which inspired them to turn their stories into music. That’s how their City Girls story began.
Career
A producer MajorNine, who was the girls’ mutual friend, played a big part in their career. They purchased a beat from him and started writing their first song. Their main plan was to write about bullies in school but actually ended writing about the boys at their school.
That’s how their track F*ck Dat N*gga was born. Their breakout single became quite popular and soon propelled the girls to stardom. The girls started getting more and more bookings and signed a record deal with Quality Control Music.
In 2018, they released a music video for the song, which went viral, and led City Girls to a number of collaborations with world-renowned artists, such as Drake, Lil Baby, Cardi B, and Jacquees.
They continue releasing successful tracks and videos, garnering a huge social media following.

We have yet to find any info about JT’s previous relationships. If she has been dating anyone, she has been extremely good at covering her tracks.

In the News
Yung Miami has been holding the fort ever since JT went to prison for credit card fraud, just after City Girls released their breakout single. JT is set to be released in December 2019, so City Girls are soon to be back in their full form.
