Halle Bailey is an American actress and singer. She’s one half of the musical duo Chloe x Halle and who is known for her role on the television series, “Grownish” on Freeform and her upcoming role as Ariel in The Little Mermaid.

Early Life
Halle Lynn Bailey was born in Atlanta, Georgia on March 27, 2000. Halle and her older sister, Chloe, were raised in Mableton, Georgia by their parents Courtney and Doug Bailey. Halle and her family moved to Los Angeles in 2012 to pursue her career in music and acting.

Career
Halle, along with her older sister Chloe, make up the singing duo, Chloe x Halle. Like her sister Chloe, Halle is a self-taught musician and she helps produce music in her and her sister’s home studio.
At age 11, Halle created a YouTube channel with her sister. They first uploaded a cover of Beyoncé’s song “Best Thing I Never Had.” The popularity of their channel landed them on the Ellen Show in 2012. resulting in the two appearing on The Ellen Show in 2012. They continued to post more cover videos to their YouTube channel, one of them being Beyoncé’s “Pretty Hurts.” Beyoncé was so impressed by the cover that she reached out to them professionally. Halle and her sister appeared in her visual album, Beyoncé: Lemonade. They were also the opening act for Beyoncé’s The Formation World Tour in 2016.
Today, Chloe x Halle have released two studio albums, The Kids Are Alright and Ungodly Hour. Ungodly Hour, their latest album, was nominated for Best Progressive R&B Album at the 2021 Grammy Awards.
Halle has also appeared in many prominent acting roles. She is well-known for her role as Sky Forster in Grown-ish, the Freeform television series. She is also set to play the starring role of Ariel in the live-action The Little Mermaid. Halle is currently filming for this film.

The musical duo Chloe x Halle have won four awards throughout their career. The first award they won was “The Next Big Thing” award at the Radio Disney Music Awards in 2012.
