K Michelle was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee in 1982. Her talent for singing was apparent since her early childhood, as well as her ability to play the piano and guitar. Her musical career started in 2009, five years after she gave birth to her son. The father went on to marry her sorority sister, leaving her to take care of the baby.
Things started happening for K Michelle from the moment she signed a deal with Jive Records and released her debut hit single, Fakin’ It. The single was an instant hit, capturing the attention from both audiences and the critics alike.
She continued at the same pace with her singles peaking at a leading position on numerous important charts. Since she always had a passion for acting, she starred in the reality show Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta.
This brought her another record deal, this time with Atlantic Records where she started working on her debut album. When she dropped her debut, it was critically acclaimed and launched her career sky high.
Today, she’s one of the most successful and biggest musical stars in the States, with an entire army of fans all over the world. She continues to work on her musical and acting careers simultaneously, cooperating with the leading musicians and hip-hop stars like Fabolous, DJ Feezy, and Rick Ross.
