Kim Kardashian is arguably one of the most famous women in the world. She’s successfully, with the help of her family, made the Kardashian name a household name worldwide.

Early Life

Kim Kardashian was born to Robert Kardashian and Kris Jenner on October 21st, 1980 in Beverly Hills, California. She was a preschool classmate of the famed Paris Hilton. Her father was a famous attorney and close friend of O.J. Simpson.  Her father, Robert, passed away in 2003.

Launch to Fame

Kim was almost destined for stardom growing up in Beverly Hills but the spark that launched her to fame was highly controversial. In 2007, Kim’s sex tape with former boyfriend, Ray-J, was leaked. Vivid Entertainment paid a whopping $1 million for the rights to the video.

This video launched her into the public eye, boosting Kim’s status from wardrobe stylist to overnight star in an instant.

Keeping Up With The Kardashians

After the release of this infamous tape, the Kardashian family entered reality TV. Keeping Up With the Kardashians aired in October of 2007. The show follows the lives of the Kardashians – mom Kris, siblings Kim, Khloe, Kourtney, Robert Jr., and half-sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner along with stepdad Caitlyn (formerly Bruce Jenner).

The show is still successfully running to this day.
