Michael B. Jordan

Michael B. Jordan is an American film actor from Newark, New Jersey. He is famous for his roles in popular TV shows and movies, including The Sopranos, The Wire, Fruitvale Station, Creed, and the latest blockbuster hit, Black Panther.

Early Life

Michael B. Jordan was born on February 9, 1987, in Santa Ana, California. His father was a high school guidance counselor and his mom was in the catering business. When Michael was 2 years old, the family moved to Newark, New Jersey. The family stayed there, and Michael spent his childhood here



But Newark was not a great place to grow up. When he was a young boy, the actor spent time with some friends who were involved in carjacking and selling drugs. Fortunately, Michael didn’t fall to peer pressure. He started his career when he was only 10 years old by modeling for newspaper ads.

During the next couple of years, Michael auditioned for a number of TV shows and commercials.

 

Career

If we were to exactly pinpoint the moment when Michael started his career as an actor, we would have to say that it was his debut in the Bill Cosby sitcom, Cosby. Although Michael played a small role in the TV show, it opened a path for him in the TV show industry.

In 1999, Michael appeared on the immensely popular TV show The Sopranos. As his profile was climbing, Michael started appearing in other productions as well. In 2001, he got a role in the movie Hardball and he had the chance to act along the great Keanu Reeves and Diane Lane. Thanks to this film, he landed a role on the HBO hit series The Wire.

His next big thing was a 3-year-long contract with the soap opera All My Children. Thanks to his acting skills, Michael received three NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Actor in a Daytime Drama Series.

In the late 2000s, we could see Michael starring in Blackout, Friday Night Lights, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, CSI, and Cold Case. The landmarks of his career include Creed and Black Panther.
