Rodrick Wayne Moore, Jr., professionally known as Roddy Ricch, is a rapper, singer, and songwriter. He’s known for his popular songs, “The Box” and “High Fashion,” among others.

Early Life

Roddy Ricch was born in Compton, California on October 22, 1998. He went to Carson Senior High School and Westchester Enriched Sciences Magnets. At the young age of eight, Roddy Ricch began rapping and singing. At 16, he began making beats. During his time living in Compton, Roddy Ricch was a member of the Park Village Compton Crips.

Relationships

Roddy Ricch is extremely private about his personal relationships.In 2020, the media discovered that Roddy Ricche was dating his girlfriend Allie Kay and had been hiding it from the public for four years. Ricch and his girlfriend Allie recently welcomed their first child, a boy, in April 2020.

Career

Roddy Ricch released his first mixtape, Feed Tha Streets, in November 2017, featuring the songs “Hoodricch” and “Chase Tha Bag.” Famous rappers, including Nipsey Hussle and Meek Mill, praised this album.

The next year, Roddy Ricch released a single “Die Young,” which was written for a childhood friend. He mentioned in an interview that he wrote the song the night XXXTentacion, the American rapper, died. The song earned 120 million streams on Spotify.

On December 6, 2019, Roddy Ricch released his first album, Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial. This album featured songs like “Big Stepper,” “Start wit Me,” and his hit-single “The Box.” This album was number one on the Billboard 200 for four weeks and was the longest running number one debut rap album since 2003. Since then, Roddy Ricch has been featured on many songs by other artists, including A Boogie wit da Hoodie, Meek Mill, and DaBaby.
