Safaree Lloyd Samuels, aka Safaree, is a well-known solo artist in the world of hip hop. He’s a vocalist, rapper, and songwriter who has four highly successful mixtapes under his belt. His involvement with the VH1 reality show Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood was what really launched him to fame.

Early Life

Safaree first introduced himself as a member of a hip-hop group, the Hoodstars, in 2000. He was a member of the group along with Seven Up, Lou$tar, and Nicki Minaj. Their entrance song for the WWE Diva Victoria, Don’t Mess With, was what made the group famous worldwide in 2004. The song was also featured on the highly popular compilation album, ThemeAddict: WWE The Music, Vol 6.

After the group’s disbandment, Safaree and Nicki Minaj decided to go solo. Six years after the break up, Safaree started working on his own solo project. He debuted with a co-written single, Did it On’em, on Nicki Minaj’s debut studio album. He continued to support Minaj and co-write songs for her albums until 2014 when he decided to fully go solo.

Safaree released his debut and highly critically acclaimed mixtapes, It Is What It Is and It Is What It Is, Vol 2. He also appeared in the second season of K. Michelle: My Life. He also decided to pursue his television and musical careers at the same time. Safaree earned himself a Blue & Bougie Impact Award in 2018.

In the News

When it comes to gossip and rumors, it seems that Safaree is almost as great at this as he is a rapper. Gossip ran wild when he had an affair with a mysterious girl and a nude video and pictures leaked online, even though he proposed to his partner, Erica Mena the same year. She still said yes and the couple is happily married making plans to have kids.
