Early Life
Tristan Thompson was born on March 13th, 1991, in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. Before high school, he worked as a paperboy in his hometown. Upon finishing elementary school, Tristan moved to Newark, New Jersey where he attended Saint Benedict’s Preparatory School.
Senior year was quite turbulent for this young basketball player. He got kicked off the basketball team because he confronted the team’s coach. The official reason was insubordination. Tristan then transferred schools to play in Henderson, Nevada.
In Henderson, he played for the Findlay Prep team and helped the team head to their first-ever National Championship. He earned the 2010 McDonald’s All-American and Jordan Brand Classic All-American titles.
In 2009, he went to study at the University of Texas where he played basketball for the University’s team. He earned the title of Most Valuable Player for the Longhorns during the 2010-11 season.
Career
To start his professional career, Tristan left the University of Texas and entered the NBA draft in 2011. He attracted the attention of Cleveland Cavalier’s scouts who selected him in the fourth round. In December 2011, Tristan made his debut in the NBA.
It took him a couple of years to ensure his spot on the starting team. In 2015, his team reached the NBA Finals but unfortunately, lost to the Warriors. His contract expired the same year, but Cavaliers ensured that he stayed on the team with a five-year deal worth a whopping $82 million. The next season, the Cavaliers won their first NBA championship in 52 years.
In 2016, Tristan became the first Cavaliers player to play 400 consecutive season games.

Tristan’s success as a professional basketball player got him a lot of media coverage. But he caught the attention of the media for other reasons as well. Tristan made headlines when he cheated on girlfriend Khloe Kardashian just days before their child together was due. Just as things were looking up for the couple, Tristian went and cheated on Khloe again with long-term BFF of Kylie Jenner, Jordyn Woods.
The couple now co-parent daughter True Thompson.
