Chad Wheeler broke his silence today on Twitter following the domestic violence incident that happened over the weekend with his girlfriend Alleah. His apology came right after the Seattle Seahawks issued a statement on Twitter announcing that they didn’t condone his actions and that he was a free agent and no longer on the team. Chad has been trending on the platform all day, so it was fitting he made a public apology.
He tweeted, “It is time for me to walk away from football and get the help I need to never again pose a threat to another. I cannot express my sorrow or remorse enough. I am truly ashamed. I apologize profusely for the turmoil that I have caused to my family, teammates, fans, and those closest to me. The most important thing right now is that Alleah gets the care she needs, and I get help. Both are happening.”
Chad continued, “The events that happened over the weekend transpired from a manic episode. I am deeply sorry for the pain and suffering that I have caused to Alleah and her family.”
As we recently reported, Chad was held at the King County Jail on suspicion of felony domestic violence. He is accused of assaulting his girlfriend at a residence in Kent, WA. According to Seattle Times, Chad appeared in King County District Court on January 25th, and his bail was set at $400,000. Court records show he was booked into the King County Correctional Facility in Seattle at 1:19 a.m. on January 24th. He was also ordered not to have contact with the alleged victim and to surrender all weapons.
The Roommates weren’t feeling his apology. One commented, “Was he sorry before or after he thought she was dead and proceeded to eat dinner next to her unconscious body?”
