Chris Brown‘s mom unwittingly sparked an online debate on Thursday, October 8, after sharing a photo on Instagram. The singer’s mother, Joyce Hawkins, shared a photograph of the birthday gifts she received from her son, and fans promptly shared unfiltered opinions.
Chris Brown’s mom, Joyce Hawkins, shared a photograph of her birthday gifts from Brown on Instagram on Thursday. The photo shows a mixed bouquet of roses and other flowers in a vase. In addition, a box of chocolates from Valerie Confections is in the pic, along with a bottle of champagne.
Hawkins thanked Brown in the post for her birthday gifts while calling him “ONE OF THE GREATEST GIFTS.”
“THANKS TO MY MOST AMAZING SON FOR ALWAYS THINKING OF ME ON MY SPECIAL DAY!! YOU ARE A BLESSING,” she wrote. “YOU GIVE ME STRENGTH WHEN LIFE GETS A LITTLE TOO MUCH!! YOU ARE ONE OF THE GREATEST GIFTS IN MY LIFE!! THANK YOU FOR MAKING MY BIRTHDAY SO SPECIAL! SO GRATEFUL FOR BEING YOUR MOM! YOU ARE ONE MY REASONS FOR KEEP PRAYING!! THANKS MY ANGEL!!”
Mama Breezy also showed off her birthday cake with a photo on Instagram with the caption:

Fans quickly weighed in on TSR’s Instagram page, debating whether Brown’s birthday gifts were sufficient given his wealth. Most Roomies loved the gifts and Hawkins’ sweet message, while others brought the pettiness.
The Shade Room reported Hawkins re-enacted an act from Brown’s Breezy Bowl Tour in a video shared onInstagram. Hawkins shared the clip in October 2025, and she is seen flying through the air while suspended by cables, just as Brown did during his shows. In addition, the proud mother shared a caption with the video thanking the crew.
“I GOT TO EXPERIENCE WHAT YOU DO EVERY NIGHT AND IT WAS AMAZING,” Hawkins wrote. “THANKS TO THE CREW WHO KEPT MY ANGEL SAFE NIGHT AFTER NIGHT. A JOB WELL DONE!!!”
