Chrissy Teigen Reveals 2020 Miscarriage Was Actually An Abortion: “It Was An Abortion To Save My Life”

Social media sent prayers and well wishes to Chrissy Teigen and her husband John Legend after the model and mom of two revealed she miscarried her son Jack. In a 2020 Instagram post, Teigen wept while holding her deceased son in her arms as she described the immeasurable feelings of pain and loss she had experienced.

Despite the announcement two years ago, Teigen recently revealed that she lost baby Jack to an abortion and not a miscarriage.

Two years ago, when I was pregnant with Jack, John and my third child, I had to make a lot of difficult and heartbreaking decisions. It became very clear around halfway through that he would not survive, and that I wouldn’t either without any medical intervention.”

Chrissy was 20 week pregnant when her and John lost baby Jack, and stated that “complications” didn’t give him a fighting chance at life. Without specifying the baby’s condition, she added that they were “never able to stop the bleeding and give out baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions, it just wasn’t enough.”

According to TMZ, Chrissy came to the realization that she chose her own life over Jack’s after the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade–prompting her to reclassify her loss.

Let’s just call it was it was: It was an abortion. An abortion to save my life for a baby that had absolutely no chance. I told the world we had a miscarriage, the world agreed we had a miscarriage…and I became really frustrated that I didn’t, in the first place, say what it was, and I felt silly that it had taken me over a year to actually understand that we had had an abortion.”

After a tumultuous few years including a few rounds of failed IVF treatments, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are awaiting the arrival of their third child.
