Whew, you might want to sit down for this one! Apparently, what was supposed to be a day meant for pepperoni pizza, arcade games, and childhood memories morphed into something straight out of a fever dream. We’re talking flashing lights, handcuffs, and Chuck E. Cheese, who turned, a.k.a. Jermel Jones, being escorted out by Florida police in front of wide-eyed kids and stunned parents. Yes, that Chuck E.
On Friday, released Bodycam footage captured the moment Tallahassee officers interrupted everyone’s favorite mouse mid-performance on July 23. In a clip that feels more like a surreal comedy sketch than real life, officers made their way past racing games and SpongeBob arcades to arrest 41-year-old Jermel Jones the man behind the costume right on the job.
In addition, the shocking video shows policeremoving the mouse mid-party as kids and parents watch in disbelief. You’re being detained, stop resisting. Let it go, let it go. Do not cause a scene here, sir, one officer could be heard saying, while another tried to gently but firmly handle those fuzzy paws. Moreover, all this went down as children looked on in shock, and one parent boldly asked, Would yall put Mickey Mouse in handcuffs?
Furthermore, heres where things took an even wilder turn. According to police, Jermel Jones allegedly swiped a customers credit card and made unauthorized charges. However, Jones has reportedly denied all accusations and has not entered a plea at the time of this report.
Of course, social media is straight-up in shambles over this wild mouse arrest! Many X users are expressing pure shock that all this went down right in front of the kids. And while some are calling out the severity, pointing out that others have done worse for less and questioning the heavy-handed response, others are just here reminiscing and honestly missing that classic Chuck E. Cheese pizza vibe.
