Whew! Colin Kaepernick is not letting up on his NFL dreams. And, his lady Nessa Diab says hes still in full beast mode training like his name just got called!
In a recent interview with TMZ, the NYC media personality was asked about her mans football grind, and Nessa made it clear: All day, every day! Nothing has changed!
Now, lets be real. Kaepernickhasnt played in an NFL game since 2017, but that hasnt stopped him from chasing that comeback. Despite being a free agent for nearly a decade, hes still putting in serious work and holding out hope that one of these QB-needy teams finally gives him a call.
Just last year, Kap apparently turned down a coaching gig with the Chargers, per Yahoo Sports. Furthermore, this was a job that would’ve reunited him with his former 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh. But hes not trying to coach from the sidelines… hes trying to play. And baby, the dedication is real.
As soon as the news hit the timeline, social media wasted no time chiming in and lets just say, the TSR’s comment section on Instagram featured plenty of opinions.
One Instagram user @iam_ambermarie commented, “Funny how he stood up for the black community but it’s the same people making jokes in the comments”
Another Instagram user @gunnagoesglobal “He is bigger than the NFL, his name extends beyond the field. He gotta use his voice for those that WANT HIM”
One Instagram user @alwayshungry21 said, “If a team would draft him again, it would definitely bring higher ratings to the games”
Back in 2016, the former 49ers quarterback sparked national attention when he began kneeling during the national anthem to protest police brutality and systemic racism, per ABC 7 News. His peaceful demonstration quickly became a trending topic across the country, drawing both praise and intense backlash.
After that season, he opted out of his contract, a move many expected would lead to another team signing him. But that call never came. Despite staying in shape and showing continued interest in returning, Kaepernick hasnt played in the NFL since January 2017, leading many to believe he was blackballed for taking a stand.
Lets not forget before his peaceful protest sparked national conversations and made him one of the most polarizing figures in the league, Kaepernick led the 49ers to the Super Bowl in 2013 and threw 72 touchdowns in six seasons. His last official team workout was with the Raiders in 2022, and scouts from seven teams even pulled up to his Atlanta workout to see what e had left in the tank.
Bottom line? Colin Kaepernick aint done. Hes still waiting on that one call from the league. And, when that it comes, he plans to be ready.
