Actor Columbus Short found himself back in headlines after being arrested for felony domestic violence on Wednesday. The actor was sent to jail after a verbal argument between him & his wife allegedly became physical. Today, the actor decided to clear the air and share what occurred between him and Mrs. Short through a video he shared on Instagram. In the caption, he explained the difficulties in marriages.
Columbus wrote, “The truth. Marriages are challenging but getting through it is the blessing! I AM not an abusive man, nor am I on drugs, but drinking alcohol makes my mouth get a little out of pocket. That’s the truth. My wife and I are working on our marriage and real work with @callmemrsshort #MyApologies.” During the video, he broke down what happened that was a little different from what was reported by TMZ.

He detailed that the incident occured once he asked his wife to leave their home. Columbus says he was frustrated, grabbed her phone, and scratched her hand. Once police arrived, they didn’t want to take either party to jail but decided to arrest him. He apologized at the end of the video. If you recall, TMZ reported that Columbus told officers that his wife was physical towards him and punched him in the face. However, he didn’t have any marks. When officers spoke to his wife, they noticed a “minor injury” that did not require medical attention—and that’s where the felony comes in.
Reports also show Columbus spent half a day in jail and bonded out on $50K. Currently, he has not been formally charged with anything at this time. Roommates, what do you think of Columbus’ video?
