Roomies, congratulations are in order for JR Smith and Candice Patton. The former NBA baller and ‘The Flash’ actress have welcomed their first child together.
On Saturday (Sept. 28), JR Smith and Candice Patton announced the arrival of their baby boy in a joint Instagram post.
The adorable photo collection features the newborn in a cozy onesie and other images of him resting in bed. Another snapshot shows JR proudly cradling his son in one arm.
Candice posted photos and videos on Instagram showing off the infant’s tiny lil’ feet. In her caption, she shared that she and JR welcomed their baby boy at home.
“Son in Virgo. Born at home. Heart now beats outside of my chest. In love forevermore ”
This is JR and Candice’s first child together, however he has three daughters Demi, Denver, and Peyton with his estranged wife Jewel Harris.
Social media users quickly filled The Shade Room comment section with reactions to JR’s news with many questioning the former athlete’s baby arrival given his marital status.

Page Six reports that JR and Candice first sparked dating rumors in October 2019 when a photo of them at a Halloween party appeared on social media.
The innanet quickly reacted to the photo fueling speculation that he was cheating on his wife, Jewel. However, TMZ reveals that JR clarified his marriage status, stating that he and Jewel have been separated for a while.
Concerns grew after Jewel took to Instagram, claiming she knew all about the alleged affair between JR and Candice Patton.
In the 2019 viral clip, Jewel mentions both JR and Candice by name, according to TMZ. In the video, she asserts that God spoke to her, prompting her to go public about the situation.
“My husband, hes hurting and Candice, she’s hurting. For her to go out here, Father God, and seek a married man, I just pray that you give her grace and mercy through all of this,” Jewel says in the video.
At the time, JR seemingly responded to Jewel’s video with a post stating that Instagram isn’t a suitable platform for relationships.
“IG ain’t a place for relationships!! But God told me to tell y’all I’ve been separated for months. He doesn’t understand why his child failed to mention that… #thatsall,” Jewel wrote.
