Daughter Corinne Shuts Down Failing Health Rumors, Says Jamie Foxx Has Been ‘Out Of The Hospital For Weeks Recuperating’

Jamie Foxxfans (and prayer warriors) can rest easy today! His daughter, who first brought us the news of his ‘medical complication,’ revealed on Friday (May 12) that Jamie is “recuperating.”

In fact, his eldest confirmed that Foxx has been out of the hospital for “weeks,” despite blog-and-internet-pushed rumors of Jamie’s ‘failing health.’

“Update from the family: Sad to see how the media runs wild. My dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating,” Corinne wrote on Instagram Story.

She included the short statement along with a repost of Rap TV’srecent report about Jamie. The outlet’s headline claims, “Jamie Foxx’s Loved Ones Reportedly Preparing For The Worst.” Citing Radar Online, their Instagram caption alleges Jamie’s “inner circle is reportedly preparing ‘for the worst’ as his health continues to decline.” The caption adds that a “source” said Jamie “wouldn’t be in a hospital this long f he was anything close to OK.”

Welp! It looks like Radar’s source got the wrong info because, according to Corinne, her dad is doing more than OK. In her Insta-statement, she added that Foxx was “playing pickleball yesterday.”

Corinne’s Update Comes After Jamie Foxx’s ‘Feeling Blessed’ Post Earlier This Month

On May 3, Jamie Foxx, presumably, posted a message to his personal Instagram account. He didn’t mention the complication or give a health update. However, he let family, friends, and supporters know that he “[appreciates] all the love” and is “feeling blessed.”

Before Jamie’s post, it had been three weeks since Corinne revealed her father suffered an undisclosed “medical complication.” She said Foxx received “quick action and great care,” setting him “on his way to recovery.” But the radio silence that followed the bare statement stirred theories, including those same ‘failing health’ rumors Corinne slammed.

Though both father and daughter have assured fans (and media outlets) that Jamie is fine, neither provided the visual evidence–not of Foxx at home or playing pickleball. However, that might not last long–fingers crossed–because in her Insta-Story update, Corinne hinted at Jamie returning to work–in some way.

“Thanks for everyone’s prayers and support! We have an exciting work announcement coming next week too,” Corinne said in the statement’s closing.

Amid Jamie’s post last week was one from “Beat Shazam,” a show Foxx hosts and daughter Corinne spins tracks on. The show announced Nick Cannon would fill Jamie’s seat as a guest host, while Kelly Osbourne would fill in as guest DJ. So, it’s unclear if Corinne’s sliver of hope for fans has anything to do with “Beat Shazam” or an entirely new project.
