Coroner Confirms YSL Rapper Lil Keed’s Cause Of Death

Just over seven months after Lil Keed passed away, further information on the 24-year-old rapper’s cause of death is coming to light.

People reports that, per the coroner, the YSL artist died on account of a condition called eosinophilia.

According to the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, eosinophilia is characterized by “having high levels of eosinophils, which are a type of immune cell that is normally present in the blood and certain tissues.” When an individual has too many of these immune cells, they can cause “chronic inflammation resulting in tissue damage” while attempting to fight off pathogens.

Additionally, the Mayo Clinic notes that the condition “most often indicates a parasitic infection, an allergic reaction or cancer.”

What Happened On The Night Lil Keed Passed Away?

In addition to the rapper’s condition, the coroner’s report also detailed what exactly occurred on the night of his passing.

Lil Keed reportedly sought out medical attention at around 7:30 p.m. on May 13. Ahead of this, he had been dealing with “stomach and back pains” for days.

“He had been sick in bed for 4 days with complaints of stomach and back pains. His brother noted that the decedent’s eyes were jaundiced and drove him to the hospital in a private vehicle.”

While heading to the hospital, the rapper suffered a seizure “before going unresponsive.” Shortly after 10 p.m., he was pronounced dead.

After he passed away, and Lil Keed’s brother—Lil Gotit—acknowledged the situation with an Instagram upload.

Lil Keed Died Shortly After Young Thug’s RICO Arrest

This tragedy notably came on the heels of Young Thug and various other YSL associates, including Gunna, being apprehended on RICO charges, as The Shade Room previously reported.

As Thugger was already incarcerated, he wasn’t able to publicly acknowledge Lil Keed’s passing. However, Lil Gotit revealed that he spoke to the rapper about the situation during a phone call.

The bereaved brother acknowledged that Keed “f**ked [Young Thug] up with this one.” In spite of this, he found comfort in knowing Lil Keed was “guarding” Thugger amid his legal issues.

We continue to send our condolences to Lil Keed’s friends and family.
