#CubaGoodingJr has been arrested for allegedly groping a woman in a New York City bar, though he maintains his innocence in the incident.
He turned himself in this afternoon to the Manhattan Special Victim’s Unit, which was part of his plan to cooperate with the investigation, @tmz_tv reports.
He brought his attorney Mark Heller with him and is expected to be booked for forcible touching, which is a misdemeanor crime.
Heller told TMZ that he had seen surveillance video from the Magic Hour Rooftop Bar and Lounge, which he is confident will show “no criminality” on Cuba’s part. Because of that, it was a possibility that Cuba would not surrender but something must’ve changed.
The incident took place early Monday morning when a woman called 911 to report that Cuba touched her breast without her consent.
There was video of Cuba partying it up all over social media at the bar, but it wasn’t immediately clear if the alleged victim is seen with him in those videos.
Cuba denies touching anyone inappropriately that night and was headed to Los Angeles Tuesday night when he insisted nothing happened that could even be misconstrued as assault.
Cops will likely take a mug shot of Cuba, get his fingerprints and give him a court date today. He is expected to be released shortly thereafter.
There were reports that a second woman came forward to say that Cuba groped her nearly a decade ago. She reportedly decided to come forward after Cuba made headlines this week for the alleged assault.
The older incident also allegedly happened in Manhattan, but at a restaurant. It wasn’t immediately clear if the alleged victim in that incident was going to press charges, or if law enforcement had plans to investigate and charge Cuba on the older claims.
We plan to keep you updated on this one, Roommates.
