Dave East Set To Portray Method Man In Hulu’s ‘Wu-Tang: An American Saga’

Dave East is about to have his acting skills on full display as it was announced that he would be portraying Method Man in the upcoming series “Wu-Tang: An American Saga.”

According to Deadline, Dave East will play the role of Shotgun (Method Man). His character is described as “tall, with a knack for rhymes, Shotgun takes pride in being the assistant manager at the concession stand next to the Statue of Liberty. A popular figure in Staten Island, he stays above the turf wars.”

As we previously reported, the 10 episode series comes from Wu-Tang’s own RZA, writer Alex Tse and Imagine Television.

According to the series synopsis, it will be set in the “early ’90s New York at the height of the crack cocaine epidemic, the show tracks the Clan’s formation, a vision of Bobby Diggs aka The RZA, who strives to unite a dozen young, black men that are torn between music and crime but eventually rise to become the unlikeliest of American success stories.”

Other members to recently join the cast include, Julian Elijah Martinez, and Vinnie Pastore, who will recur on the series.

Cast members that were previously announced include Erika Alexander, Shameik Moore, Ashton Sanders and more.

The RZA and Method Man are attached to the project as executive producers, and Ghostface Killa, Inspectah Deck, Masta Killa, and GZA as well as the Estate of Ol’ Dirty Bastard, will serve as consulting producers.
