A Tennessee man,Davis Owolo, is facing homicide charges after shooting his roommate, Johnia Ishan Wilson.Oswolo allegedly murdered Wilson for believing he had entered his room without permission.
According to the Tennessean, authorities responded to a reported shooting around 9 p.m. on March 5 at a home. Nashville police arrived at the scene and later discovered Johnia Ishan Wilson deceased at the top of the stairs inside the residence on March 6.
Police told PEOPLE that Davis Owolo got heated after having suspicions that Johnia Ishan Wilson tried to enter his room while he was gone. Witnesses allegedly tried to calm things down before the situation turned violent.
Owolo was reportedly upset that Wilson may have attempted to enter his room when he wasn’t home, which Wilson denied, The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department said in a statement.
PerWKRC, Owolo reportedly took off with his girlfriend before turning himself in to the police on Thursday, March 6.
PEOPLE reports that Davis Owolo was booked at the Downtown Detention Center. He reportedly faces criminal homicide charges and remains held without bond. Details about his arrest and whether he has secured a lawyer are still unclear.

WAFB-TV reports that authorities took 23-year-old Caleb McCray into custody, but just one day after his arrest, jail records show he was released on bond, per WDSU. Additional reports suggest that up to ten other individuals may be charges related to the incident.
The Southern University Division of Student Affairs has suspended all campus membership activities, including fraternities, sororities, and student clubs. This suspension will last until further notice.
