DDG Speaks On Career Goals & Aspirations

DDG sparked social media chatter on the latest episode of the podcast ‘No Ordinary.’ In the viral clip of the hour-and-a-half-long show, the ‘I’m Geekin’ rapper shared his thoughts on how people should approach 9-to-5 jobs.

“A 9-to-5 should only be used to fund your own [business]. I don’t think nobody should ever get a job and say, ‘I’m gon be the 10 year best employee of the year. Nobody should ever think that,” the 26-year-old said.

DDG said folks shouldn’t bother trying to climb the corporate ladder at their 9-to-5 because one slip-up will result in termination. However, he added that owning a business puts you in charge, allowing you to hire and fire employees as you please.

“I tell people all the time, you can’t be stuck in no 9-to-5. It’s nothing wrong with a 9-to-5, but it’s like what you doing with the 9-to-5. You shouldn’t be working a 9-to-5 to take care of your [life] for the rest of your life,” the musician continued.

DDG Clarifies His Comments

After TSR posted the clip of DDG, he jumped into the comment section to clarify his statements. The ‘Moonwalking in Calabasas’ artist explained that he used to work a regular job and all he wanted to do was motivate those want to be their own boss someday.
