Its been feeling like a party ever since Disney star Debby Ryan and Twenty One Pilots drummer Josh Dun announced they were expecting their first child together back in September. Now, the celebration continues as the couple officially step into their newest role yet, parenthood!
Debby said her brother “gave me a sister and one of my very best friends,” both gifted at capturing meaningful moments. She shared that watching them become parents “changed” her, adding their children will share the same age difference. Debby also wrote about one of the greatest honors of her journey:
“…making joshuas parents grandparents, making his sisters aunts & his brother an uncle, giving my parents a grandkid & my niece a cousin & returning the favor for Chase & Sarah, these are among the greatest honors Ive been feeling along this journey. dont get me started on Josh.
Additionally, the former Disney star said it’s been a long road to reach this moment, with many miles still ahead. Debby expressed gratitude for sharing the journey in both big and small ways. She closed by thanking her family for the warmth, love, and support surrounding her during this chapter.
The celebration didnt stop there. Later that month, family and friends flew to California for the Baby Dun baby shower. Photos from the event showed Josh kissing Debbys baby bump, loved ones sharing hugs and kisses, and dcor throughout the space reading, “Baby Jebby.” Supporters were also surprised to see Debby posing with her Jessie costar Karan Brar. The following week, the celebrations continued around Thanksgiving, as loved ones gathered again for another Baby Dun moment, creating adorable onesies, a custom Dun jean jacket, and a quilt filled with heartfelt messages and love.
On Saturday, Debby Ryan and Josh Dun shocked their fans after officially revealing they welcomed their baby girl, Felix Winter Dun. The couple shared intimate photos from Debbys water birth, along with glimpses into life with their newborn, including close-up moments holding baby Felix and sweet shots of their dog gently licking her tiny feet.
Debby took to Instagram as she reflected on the emotional moments leading up to Felixs birth and her transition into motherhood. She began her caption by recalling a quiet moment with Josh under a full moon as they said goodbye to life as a family of two. Debby revealed that Felix was born “under Christmas lights with snow outside our bedroom window,” arriving right into her fathers hands, while calling Josh “an incredible teammate.”
She continued to write, “fortified by an incredible birth team, and the strength and wisdom of some women who have supported me on this journey near and far. Her hair is made of silk and her breath smells like vanilla ice cream and every chirp, squeak and whimper is music and every time I look away and look back, shes gotten smaller somehow. I know too soon, Ill look away and look back and shell be bigger and bigger still so for now Id like to spend my days trapped under the immovable 8 pounds of Felix Winter Dun. Ive been a lot of things but her home, a grow light, a portal to bring a new soul into the worldthese are my greatest honors. Welcome to earth lil moonbeam. Love you forever.”
Josh also shared his own message, reflecting on witnessing Felixs birth firsthand and praising Debbys strength throughout the experience, calling it “the coolest thing Ive ever witnessed.”
He wrote, “A moonbeam baby has arrived. She is a sweet baby girl and I love her. Debby labored and gave birth in our bedroom under a bright full moon and snow outside; Felix arrived right into my hands. The coolest thing Ive ever witnessed. Debby is unbelievable. I examined and announced to the room that Felix Winter Dun is a girl. I kinda thought she was a boy the whole time, but what a way to start off life already surprising me. There is not a single thing Id ever change about her, except her diaper. She can do truly whatever she wants in life, but Ive got some extra drumsticks and practice pads ready just in case. I love you Felix.”
While the couple continued to celebrate their baby girl, supporters across social media gathered to congratulate Debby Ryan and Josh Dun as they begin life as a new family of three. Many of Debbys Disney alums, including Karan Brar, Bella Thorne, and Cole Sprouse, also sent their congratulations, along with many others.
