Detroit Man Robbed Of $20K Chain He Claims He Bought After Winning The Lottery For $30K

Whew! It’s none of our business what y’all do with your lotto winnings, but a Detroit man recently found himself in some trouble after spent his on an iced out chain!

According to WDIV 4 news, a man who identified himself as Jamal, was attacked and robbed of his chain at a gas station on the west side of Detroit. Jamal claims he bought the $20k chain with the bulk of his $30k lotto winnings and never expected to be a victim of such a crime.

The incident was caught on surveillance footage from the gas station and Jamal can be seen standing inside of the station convenience store when the two men involved in the alleged attack walked in. As Jamal made his way back to his car, the footage shows the two men chase him back into the store and pin him to the ground before seemingly throwing a few punches.

Soon after, a third man runs up and grabs the items in Jamal’s pockets while the other two men physically assault him, eventually snatching his chain. All three men ran off and escaped in a black vehicle.

The station owner told WDI4 that the two men seen on camera assaulting Jamal were allegedly involved in a robbery at then same station a few months prior.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the attack to contact the Detroit Police Department.
