Listen, Disney is stepping on necks and determined to get your coins by any means necessary! If the announcement of a Lizzie McGuire reboot and the Black Panther sequels release date werent enough to have you in a frenzythen their new mostly black animated film just might do it.
Fans and industry buffs are still buzzing about the exciting announcements that emerged from Disneys recent D23 Expo. While youve likely already heard about some of the biggest upcoming releases such as favorites Lizzie McGuire, Black Panther, Star Wars and Lady and the Tramp, there is a brand-new animated film thats filled with #blackexcellence.
As reported by Shadow and Act (@shadow_act,) Disneys offshoot Pixar has just announced its first black-led animated film titled Souland it features a lot of big-name talent. Providing some of the voices in the film, includes Academy Award winner Jamie Foxx, Emmy nominee Phylicia Rashad, The Roots front-man Questlove, Daveed Diggs and actress/comedienne Tina Fey.
The synopsis of Soul is described as follows:
In Soul,everyone has their soul trained before they become a person.It will revolve around a middle school band teacher who plays jazz on the side. He has never been able to get his big break at playing atclub that he wants to. [When he … dies?] the musician’s soul must find a way back.
The animated tale is scheduled to hit theaters on June 19, 2020, just in time for next summers box office boom. This sounds like it could be a lot of fun!
