Whew, chile! Roommates, get ready because this new tea is piping hot! DL Hughley entered the chat after Janet Jackson made comments about Vice President Kamala Harris in a recent interview.
Recently, Janet Jackson sat down with The Guardian for an interview where she discussed Vice President Kamala Harris’s ethnicity. According to NBC News, during the conversation, the pop icon stated that she has heard people claim VP Harris is not Black.
Through a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), DL Hughley chose to inform Jackson about VP Harris’s background. The comedian began by suggesting that her statements hinted at support for Donald Trump.
In other posts, Hughley explained VP Harris’s race, claiming that her mother is of Indian descent and her father is Jamaican.
Recently, the singer went viral on social media after commenting on Vice President Kamala Harris during an interview with The Guardian.
The award-winning musician responded to the interviewer’s statement that “America could be on the verge of voting for its first Black female president,” per The Guardian.
Jackson then replied, Well, you know what they supposedly said? Shes not black. Thats what I heard. That shes Indian.
When The Guardian reporter clarified that Harris has both Black and South Asian heritage, Jackson replied that she had received different information.
Thats what I was told. I mean, I havent watched the news in a few days. I was told that they discovered her father was white,” Janet continued.
Currently, Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign has not responded to Janet Jackson’s remarks.
