Chile! Donald Trump isnt exactly bending over for Diddy. The hip-hop mogul reportedly wrote a letter to President Trump requesting a pardonbut during a recent interview, Trump confirms where he stands on the topic.
Chile things between Donald Trump and Sean Diddy Combs are reportedly still icy. During a two-hour sit-down with The New York Times on Jan. 7, the former president was asked about several high-profile prisoners, including the 56-year-old music mogul, and whether hed consider pardons for them. While Diddy allegedly wrote Trump a letter seeking clemency, Trump confirmed hes not considering granting the request.
Trump even teased reporters about seeing the letter, saying, Oh, would you like to see that letter?but he never actually produced it. Trump had already revealed back in October that the Bad Boy Records founder, who is appealing his conviction while serving a 50-month sentence in New Jersey for prostitution-related charges, had asked for a pardonbut reiterated he was not considering it. Furthermore, Combs projected release date is May 8, 2028, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
Fans ran straight to TSRs Instagram comment section to weigh in, with many saying this is the only thing they can agree with when it comes to Trump. Others chimed in with humor, noting that Johnson & Johnson workers must be punching the air right now. A few took a different approach, suggesting that Diddy should just thug it out and do the sentence.
One Instagram user @blissful.lala said, “He just like me. Once you speak on me make sure you never need me again. ”
This Instagram user @tiffanimonique__ commented, “Man act like he got 50 yearsthug it out Puffy ”
And, Instagram user @sua_ve joked, “Johnson & Johnson workers had their fingers crossed too“
Meanwhile, Instagram user @dominiquechinn wrote, “Yea, he might as well just stop submitting it at this point ”
While Instagram user @mr.international813 shared, “Lmao trump petty he said I didnt forget what you said stay in jail ”
Finally, Instagram user @blackkeyshia said, “Only time I agree with this Clown ”
And, let’s just say the tension isnt exactly new. Trump told reporters back in August that Combs hostile comments during his first term made a pardon more difficult. While the two were acquainted before Trumps presidential run in 2015, the relationship reportedly soured over time. As of now, USA TODAY says it has reached out to both the White House and Combs team for more information, but for Diddy, it seems the letter alone isnt enough to change Trumps mind.
