Donald Glover recently confirmed that he has recruited Malia Obamato the writers room for his new Amazon series! The series, potentially calledHive, is rumored to focus on a Beyonce-like figure.
Shes just like, an amazingly talented person, Donald told Vanity Fair at the ‘Atlanta’season three premiere. Shes really focused, and shes working really hard.
I feel like shes just somebody whos gonna have really good things coming soon. Her writing style is great, said the ‘Atlanta’ creator and star.
This isnt twenty-three-year-old Malias first industry gig. She’s been actively pursuing a career in Hollywood for a few years. Malia has previously worked on Halle Berrys Extantin 2014 as a production assistant, followed by HBOsGirlsin 2015. She even worked for theWeinstein Company back in 2017.
Also joining Malia in the writers room is Donald’s younger brother, ‘Atlanta’cowriter and executive producer Stephen Glover.
Donald always says perspective is important, and people with different perspectives are important for a writers room. And for sure, she definitely has a unique perspective on everything, said Stephen of Obama. So we wanted to hear her stories and have her work with us. Listening to her stories and having her involved really gave us a lot of good ideas.
When asked how he might shoot down one of Obamas pitches, Stephen joked, Well, you know, we just hurt her feelings. We cant be easy on her just because shes the [former] presidents daughter. He added, Nah, shes very down to earth, and cool. So, its not a problem at all. She has a lot of good ideas. Shes great. Shes just a regular person like everybody else.
